Why did you choose to do coaching?

Once upon a time I wanted to be a psychiatrist, but I never liked the idea of prescribing drugs nor having people sit with me for years of therapy. I was always looking for a better way.

What do you like best about coaching?

There is a place for counseling and psychiatry, but my clients, usually, “are not there yet,” and my role is to keep them from getting to that point. That’s where coaching comes in. A favorite quote of mine says it best: “‘Something better’ is the watchword of education, the law of all true living. Whatever Christ asks us to renounce, He offers in its stead something better.” 1MCP 342.5

Also, the Title of Dr. Salmon’s first book “There Has to be Another Way,” completed the journey for me.

The less I try to help, the more I am helping. I provide a safe space for the interaction of the individual with his/her own heart and the Holy Spirit. I believe many of us, if not all of us, can do this on our own if we had or took the time to spend 90 minutes first thing in the morning with God in introspection. Consider Psalms 139:23-24 and 55:17.

With the cares of this life and the deceitfulness of riches distracting us, we don’t take this very important time. Having coaching appointments allows time and space for the promise of Matthew 18:20 to produce fruit. Change can take place in a few short weeks or months rather than years.

How do you recharge on your day off?

I enjoy learning about the brain and reading my Bible, but I spend so much time indoors coaching and managing my business, that I make sure to have some outdoor time in the sun and fresh air. When the weather is good, I take walks with one or two of my neighbors, or by myself when they aren’t available. Otherwise, I’m working on a Tunisian crochet project or checking out new vegan recipes.

What are your three favorite things?

1. I suppose I love teaching what I’ve learned most of all

2. I am grateful for a better-than-average retention that allows me to share even what I’ve learned years ago.

3. I also enjoy DIY projects like Tunisian crochet and trying new recipes which include food, herbal remedies, and hair care.

You can get to know me better by joining me on the 13 Weeks Group Coaching call held Sunday mornings at 8:00 am ET. Just check the “Free Phone Support” area for more information or schedule a free 15-minute discovery call at https://frangourdet.com/fgcdiscovery be sure to mention that you found me on the Abide.Network site.

* Minimum donations start at $10 per session.

NOTE: My coaching fees via the IADFW are valued at $250. As a gesture of goodwill and a commitment to supporting Abide.Network, I provide my coaching and education services on a donation basis. I believe that the act of giving is a powerful way to strengthen the bonds within our community, and it is my belief that people generally value more what they contribute to.
