Korissa Mattson-Khair, LMSW studied at Andrews University, obtaining a Bachelor’s and a Masters in social work. She has over a decade of counseling, therapy, and outpatient support experience. She likes to focus on relationship and marital counseling, geriatric support and the aging process, as well as grief, loss, stress management, anxiety, self-esteem, and illness management.

Why did you choose a career in counseling? I have a passion for walking my clients through their healing and growing processes. I chose to follow God at a young age, but God keeps pushing and growing me to love and trust him more everyday. I am so thankful that in this world we do not have to walk alone, he is always by our side.

What do you like best about counseling?

I love the connection between the psychological and the spiritual. I chose to work with Abide to help people all around the world that want to grow. One of my favorite parts about Abide is that I can use my passion for God and helping others together. I am so thankful to work for a Christian network.

How do you recharge on your day off?

I currently am a pastors wife and enjoy spending time outdoors with my husband and our Australian shepherd Magnolia. I love walking, hiking and running thru God’s amazing creation.

What are your three favorite things?

Here’s more than three: Exploring, kayaking, yummy baked goods, family, and the smell and color of Fall months in Michigan.
