Nahash Mwathi is in the medical field, with a specialty in dental surgery. Other than that, he's had a musical background as well, with songwriting being a strength he's happy to have. Nahash is passionate about mental health, music and faith, and he'd like to see us embrace the light available for us in all aspects of our lives, and enjoy peace that surpasses all understanding.

What do you like best about coaching?

I like the fact that through coaching I can be the prompt that helps someone find their way out of a really dark place and reach Jesus who can help them into such a bright light of their life. Someone like me being used to help another person, that’s just so mind blowing to me. I can be used by God, so why not?

Why did you choose to do coaching?

Africans have not fully embraced the idea of mental health, and this is even worse when it comes to Adventist circles in Africa. I believe our minds are breeding grounds for so many good and bad things, and if we harness the good, we can overcome the bad. I want to be a part of that change, seeing what good it has done to my life.

How do you recharge on your day off?

I enjoy listening to good music, or taking a walk or road trip with friends to just talk and think about the beautiful things in life, even within the terrible things. A good conversation over a good meal is also really refreshing, I would hardly pass it after a long day!

What are your three favourite things?

1. Creating music

2. Talking with friends

3. Travelling to new places in nature
