Restoring A Mental Health Sanctuary

Some dreams won’t die, and that’s a good thing. One of mine began in 2007, just after I finished my master’s degree in mental health counseling. I was living in the Greater Orlando area and working out of a little office, providing faith-based counseling to people in my community. Before long, I was fully booked, with more demand than I could meet alone. So I started referring clients to other counselors I trusted. We formed a small group, calling it “Abide Counseling.” In time, we added coaches, built a network, and watched our little ministry blossom into what is now Abide Network.

Today, we’re serving people all over the world. Our website has over 21,000 visits a month. We’ve trained more than 60 coaches in our specialized approach. Our online store offers self-help courses for anxiety, depression, trauma recovery, and more. Our podcast and YouTube channel provide biblically grounded, psychologically sound content for people in all stages of their healing journey. We’ve come a long way—but the need for in-person connection remains strong.

That’s where Abiding Place Farm comes in.

In 2015, through a series of providences, we acquired a beautiful eight-acre property in Greater Orlando. This lakefront parcel was the perfect setting to host retreats, in-person trainings, and healing intensives, which we did, many times. People found answers. Marriages were strengthened. Faith was renewed. But in 2020, just as we were hitting our stride, the COVID-19 pandemic brought everything to a halt. Like the rest of the world, we pivoted to digital, but the dream of in-person ministry didn’t go away. It’s been dormant, but alive in our hearts.

Now, it’s time to revive it.

We’re ready to reopen Abiding Place Farm in 2026, but we need your help. Thanks to a generous matching grant, we’ve been awarded $50,000 to help us restore and upgrade the property. But here’s the catch: it’s a matching grant, which means we must raise $50,000 ourselves in order to access the funds. That’s where you come in.

The funds will go directly toward essential restoration efforts: flood-proofing the house, updating the décor, installing healing amenities like an infrared sauna and cold plunge, and preparing the property to host guests. These upgrades will allow us to hold events such as intensive marriage weekends, trauma recovery programs, coach trainings, and even events to train mental health missionaries.

In a world full of noise and stress, people are longing for safe spaces, places where they can come apart and find rest, healing, and purpose. That’s what Abiding Place Farm has always been about. And that’s what we’re asking you to help us rebuild.

We believe God isn’t finished with this dream. And maybe, just maybe, you’re part of it.

Every dollar you give will be matched. Your $50 becomes $100. Your $500 becomes $1,000. Your generosity will help restore not just a property, but a mission—a place where souls are cared for, marriages are mended, and lives are transformed by the love of God.

Help us make this dream a reality. Help us bring Abiding Place Farm back to life. Watch the full story below.
