Things Work Sometimes

I want to take a break from our regularly scheduled programming of tackling big, heavy topics, to give a shout out to some medical and self-care breakthroughs in my life.
The first is a treatment for my allergies. I have a long history of chronic, low-level allergic rhinitis causing discomfort and, most troublingly, issues with my voice. I used to sing semi-professionally, having recently quit due to the effects of these allergies. I have tried every kind of allergy protocol. I once found a system that worked, but the doctor retired and didn’t train anyone to take his place. The have allergies stayed the same, or worsened, for the last ten years. Frustrated one day I searched online for help, stumbling upon Curex, a treatment using sublingual immunotherapy drops. I had to self-pay a little chunk, but it wasn’t too bad. They have a slick, efficient system where you see doctors online every couple months and your insurance covers that part. Guess what? Six months later, these drops are starting to work.
The second is my hair. I’ve always had very fine hair, but it started thinning out to the point of being difficult to style. I found a Dr. Barusco here in Orlando who used a multi-pronged, budget-friendly approach, including red light therapy and some topical treatments. A previous hair restoration specialist wanted to do a grafting process for over $10,000, but Dr. Barusco gave me a better, less-expensive approach. And it is working!
Let me add a third. I have SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth), which causes a lot of intestinal distress. I tried everything to cure it, including a two week fast once where all I could eat was a medical food (predigested protein) which tasted exactly like vomit, which I still hated eating even after two weeks of no food! The fast didn’t cure me. In fact, nothing worked. But recently dietician Ashley Riesenberger told me about two products: An enzyme program called FODZYME and a probiotic called VSL. They’ve helped immensely.
I love how humans look deeply into problems, develop solutions, and sell them to the people who need them. Long live human ingenuity and the free market! Some things work!
And one day, peeps, we get 100% new, glorified, incorruptible, untainted, unblemished, perfect, strong, healthy bodies! I Corinthians 15:52.
