What do you like best about coaching?
I appreciate the flexibility of setting my own schedule, since I still have children to care for. Being an extrovert, it is a great way to connect with people. And it allows me to be able to have a career that is meaningful.
How do you recharge on your day off?
I enjoy taking naps sometimes. I also enjoy time in nature, as well as watching a good movie with my kids or playing games with them. Also singing and chatting with friends.
Why did you choose to do coaching?
I care about people. When I learn helpful things, I enjoy sharing them. Also, the difficulties in my own relationships, and the lessons I have learned, give me both empathy for people in similar situations, as well as the desire to help them. I have also watched many friends leave the church, and I have struggled with some of the same issues, but found a way to ground myself in God’s love so that I didn’t lose my faith. I want to be able to help others through that process as well.
What are your three favorite things?
Besides my three kids…
1. Singing: I sing regularly at church and hope to do some recording some day.
2. Exercise: As a teen, I was the classic bookworm; but I discovered the joys of exercise as an adult, and I do it regularly—sometimes even when I don’t want to!
3. Seeing the results of a job well done is always motivating and a healthy hit of dopamine and other feel-good chemicals.
