Abide Coach Certification

Note:  Certification is not a guarantee of client referrals. It is a resume-builder and
a good training experience. You are welcome to join the monthly Abide Network
support calls and glean from the prayers and experience of others.

Requirements:

  1. 13 Weeks to Peace– This book on biblically-based individual psychology is laid out in a very interactive format. You should not only read the book, but answer the questions and complete the worksheets.

  2. The 7 Deadly Psychological Sins– This DVD gives a snapshot of common destructive habits and their replacements. You will view this short series, available as a DVD or free on YouTube.

  3. 13 Weeks to Love– This book on biblically-based relationship psychology is the sequel to 13 Weeks to Peace. You should read the book, answer the questions and complete the worksheets.

  4. The 7 Deadly Relationship Sins– This DVD gives a snapshot of common destructive relationship habits and their replacements. You will view this short series, available as a DVD or for free on YouTube.

  5. God Made Love: The Design, Departure and Redemption of Human Sexuality- This DVD series addresses various aspects of human sexuality in detail. You can purchase the DVD or watch it for free on YouTube.

  6. Abide Helper Training– This training shows how to apply the concepts and methods found in the previous materials and gives practical instruction in how to help people with mental health issues, when to refer to a professional, how to set up a counseling or coaching ministry, and more. This training must be attended in person or purchased online.

  7. Three counseling/coaching sessions with an Abide counselor or coach – This is for the purpose of helping you prepare for, and pinpointing, what your helper ministry will look like, whether professional, semi-professional or lay ministry. These sessions will also help refine your knowledge of how to coach.

  8. Conduct ten coaching sessions– These sessions are generally offered for free and done during the period of time the trainee is being coached by the Abide counselor or coach. The purpose is to give the helper firsthand experience while under supervision.

  9. The Abide Network has a monthly group call for all the counselors and coaches to chat about cases, share blessings and pray together. We recommend you come to the monthly meeting. You can check with Jennifer for when the next meeting is scheduled: jennifer@jenniferjill.org.
