Why I'm a coach:

There is something sacred about being truly seen and heard. It is a gift that is rarer than it should be, and it is the foundation of everything Fran Gourdet brings to her coaching work. As a Bible-based Christian coach, Fran's practice is rooted in Scripture, guided by the Holy Spirit, and grounded in the conviction that lasting change is not only possible but promised.

What I love most about coaching:

Once upon a time I wanted to be a psychiatrist, but I never liked the idea of prescribing drugs or having people sit in therapy for years. I was always looking for a better way. When I discovered Dr. Melanie Salmon's work, I knew I had found what I had been searching for. Her approach aligned with everything I believed Scripture and the Holy Spirit could do in a person's life. Through her method, which I call Quick and Effective Coaching (QEC), I learned how to hold space for individuals to take real ownership of their healing. Dr. Salmon, MB BCh (1953 to 2025), poured that gift into countless lives, and I am honored to carry it forward.

There is a place for counseling and psychiatry, but most of my clients are not there yet, and my role is to help keep them from getting to that point. That is where coaching comes in.

I recharge on my day off by:

Honestly, I am still figuring out what a day off looks like! Between completing my Master of Public Health degree and my volunteer work at church, where I help plan Sabbath School, coordinate Health Nuggets for Youth Day, and occasionally prepare a sermon about victorious living, spare moments are precious. When I find them, you might catch me searching for an interesting new recipe to try or picking up a Tunisian crochet project I have been meaning to get back to.

My three favorite things:

Teaching what I have learned comes first. I am grateful for a better than average retention that allows me to share insights, even ones gathered years ago, in ways that still feel fresh and relevant to the person in front of me.

I also love the kitchen as a creative space, experimenting with vegan recipes, crafting herbal remedies, and making my own hair care products. There is something deeply satisfying about whole person wellness that starts with what you grow, cook, and nourish yourself with.

And perhaps most of all, I love the Word. Reading my Bible is not just a discipline. It is where I am restored, redirected, and reminded of why all of this matters.
